As a Social Worker she worked for many years with children and families in community and paediatric hospital settings in both Australia and England. She has worked with immigrant populations in both countries and with aboriginal families in Sydney. Much of her work was with families from low socio-economic backgrounds, often involving circumstances of loss, abuse and neglect. In her private practice Mary sees adults, couples, adolescents and young families. She has a special interest in mother/infant work, including post-natal depression and bereavement and working with young families. Mary has extensive experience in providing individual and group supervision to Social Workers, Psychologists and other professionals.

Mary has been involved in the Mothers Group Program with PIFA and co-ran a mother and infant group, which met weekly for 2 years. Other PIFA programs she is involved in are supervision to a group of Early Childhood Nurses and consultation to staff at SDN Children’s Services Centres.
